Norwalk Sex-Trafficker Gets 10 Years
A Norwalk resident operated a prostitution business, which used a 14-year-old and 17-year old girl, from his apartment.
Theodore Briggs of Norwalk was sentenced to 120 months in prison for operating a prostitution ring that was promoted on the Internet and employed two girls who were minors, including a 14-year old girl.
According to David B. Fein, United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut and court documents, Briggs was involved in a prostitution business the Norwalk resident ran out of his apartment. Briggs knowingly prostituted two minor girls, ages 14 and 17, admitting that he and others transported the 14-year-old girl from Connecticut to New York and Atlantic City, N.J., to engage in prostitution. As part his prostitution business, Briggs posted photographs of the girl on a website known as Backpage.com. He kept most, if not all of the proceeds that the victim earned for engaging in sex acts with men.
On October 25, 2011, Briggs plead guilty to one count of transportation of an individual under the age of 18 with intent to engage in criminal sexual activity. The Norwak resident has been detained since his arrest on December 20, 2010.
