Residential Burglary, Stoned Antics and Bad Drivers

The following information was obtained from the Wilton Police Department for the dates of June 1 through June 6. Arrests do not indicate a conviction. All persons involved are innocent until proven guilty.

Residential Burglary on Mountain Road

  • Between 7:30 a.m.- and 3:30 p.m. on June 2, a residence on Mountain Road was broken into and burglarized, police said. With residents out for the day, the burglar was able to force entry through an exterior door: Jewelry and two camcorders were taken from the home, police said. The total value on the stolen property has not been estimated as of this time and police have no suspects. Anyone who may have noticed any suspicious activity in the vicinity of Mountain road and Irmgard Lane on June 6 is asked to contact police at (203) 834-6260.

 

DUIs and Bad Driving

  • Police reported that Rachel May, 23, of Bethel, turned herself in on a warrant to Wilton police for an accident which occurred on April 24. May was charged with a DUI and reckless driving; she is to appear in court on June 13 and her bond is set at $2500, according to the logs.
  • Hendrik J Dirs, 52, of New Canaan, was pulled over by police on June 6 for failure to drive right, police said. The officer who pulled Dirs over smelled alcohol emanating from the accused vehicle, said police. After field sobriety tests were performed, Dirs was placed in custody. He is to appear in court on June 16 and his bond is set at $500, according to the logs.
  • Brendan T. Veno, 18, of Ridgefield, was charged with reckless driving after a complaint was reported to the police of a vehicle driving at excessive speeds on Wilridge Road, police said. Veno was accused by neighbors of "peeling out" and shouting at residents in the neighborhood, the report shows. At the time of the incident, several young children were playing in front yards, according to the logs. Veno is to appear in court on June 15.

Bad Idea: Flagging Down a Cop for Directions while High 

  • Kristine Marie Rodak, 21, of Garrison, NY , Zachary Seeip, 18, of Wappingers Falls, NY and Colin Budds, 23, of Cortland Manner NY were charged with possession of marijuana of less than 4oz and possession of drug paraphernalia on June 4, according to the police. Police said an officer was flagged down by a lost motorist, and while he was giving the driver of the vehicle directions, he began to detect an odor of marijuana emanating from the inside of the vehicle, police said. After searching the vehicle, police said the officer found a small amount of marijuana and a glass pipe containing marijuana residue. None of the three involved took ownership of the drugs and paraphernalia, so they all received the same charges and are to appear in court on June 14, according to police.

  • A 16-year old female was charged with possession of marijuana at Wilton High School on June 3, according to police. She was referred to Juvenile Court and released to a parent, and will appear in court on June 21, according to police reports
