Wilton Becomes HEARTSafe Community

Nancy Capelle, who championed for Wilton to become part of the HEARTSafe community, has succeeded in her efforts.

On Tuesday, February 21 at 9:00 a.m, Wilton will formally become a !  A ceremony will be held at Town Hall at 9:00am.

As a heart attack & cardiac arrest survivor, I have foregone my personal Facebook page and created a Community page called HEARTSafe Wilton, CT In order to promote awareness and support our new status as a HEARTSafe Community.

Please like” the page if you are interested in information on heart health, local CPR trainings, AED locations in Wilton, current local initiatives (i.e. AHA), local educational events, cardiac news, etc.

Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death in the nation and Connecticut.  Approximately 4,500 die each year due to sudden cardiac arrest.  Most of these deaths occur out of the hospital, away form advanced medical assistance and usually happen in the presence of a family member of friend. Would you know what to do if it happened to one of your family or friends? By taking action, bystanders can help save a life in Wilton by starting the “Chain of Survival.”

Please join me on Feb. 21st too!

Be Well,

Nancy Capelle
