Wilton Wins Second Straight FCIAC Gymnastics Title
Warriors' Chelsea LeVander sweeps all four events to win third straight individual title, Darien finishes second
Senior Chelsea LeVander won all four events, helping the Wilton gymnastics team captured its second straight FCIAC championship Saturday afternoon at Law High School in Milford.
By sweeping the vault (9.4), uneven bars (9.4), balance beam (9.45) and floor exercise (9.5), LeVander earned the all-around title for the third straight year with a total score of 37.75.
Wilton's team score of 138.6 gave the Warriors their second consecutive FCIAC crown. They finished ahead of Darien (131.95), Fairfield Ludlowe (130.85), Fairfield Warde (125.1), Trumbull (121.5), Greenwich (117.1), Westhill (105.1) and New Canaan (69).
On the vault, Darien's Katherine Mosher and Wilton's Christina Brandt tied for second with scores of 8.8.
On the uneven bars, Fairfield Warde's Kathleen Piscotta was second (8.8) and Wilton's Meghan Graham third (8.5).
Mosher also finished second on the balance beam (8.8), just ahead of Wilton's Payton Piedmont, who was third with a score of 8.7.
Brandt also had a second-place finish in the floor exercise (8.75) while Piscotta and Fairfield Ludlowe's Perry Kindel tied for third at 8.7.
In the all-around, Mosher (34.4) was second, followed by Piscotta (33.8), Kindel (33.75), Darien's Katie Southworth (33.6) and Staples' Anna Violette (33.1).
