Young Woman Arrested in Connection to Boyfriend's Death

A 19-year-old woman faces a number of charges after the death of her boyfriend which occurred in Storrs earlier this month.

Wilton police arrested a young Wilton woman in connection with the recent death of her hometown boyfriend, according to the Hartford Courant.

Wilton Police arrested Amanda Denke, 19, of Wilton, on Thursday and charged her with possession of heroin, possession of marijuana, reckless endangerment, making false statements to police, interfering with a police officer, tampering with evidence, and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to the Courant.

On Jan. 24, police received a call of reports of a “man not breathing” at a Mansfield Apartments residence in Storrs, Conn., according to the Courant. The man was identified as Paul Swayak, 20, also of Wilton. The Courant reports that Denke and Swayak were in a relationship.

Denke posted a $50,000 bond and is to be arraigned in Rockville Superior Court later this month, according to the Courant. 

Both Swayak and Denke had attended the University of Conn. at Storrs.
