Americana Pigs In A Blanket

IIRC, I asked for your recipes for these and the deviled eggs. Thanks. Depending on the crown, weRead More might do a variant on these where we put a dollop of flavored hot dog onions on the weenie before wrapping it in the blanket. You can use Sabrett brand or something else, or make your own. Adds a nice kick to the experience that goes beyond mustard. As for mustard, we tend to serve with both standard yellow French's as well as a combo of Grey Poupon smooth and stone ground (country style). Not sure it makes the weenie high falootin or not but they are tasty. Now, do you have a recipe for something with bacon on a skewer? We have done cheese lollipop that are rolled in finely diced bacon bits. Use a semi-soft cheeze that can be formed into a ball, skewer with a shortened bamboo skewer (cut a standard skewer in half) and then roll around in the diced bacon to coat. Stick them into a some vegetable that allows them to stand up like a bouquet. Excellent!

I thought sour cream was much for civilized than mayo! :)

Depends on whether you whip up your own mayo or not. ;-) My yia yia would eat zatziki unless theRead More yogurt was made from scratch. The idea of store-bought yogurt to her was an abomination.

You are so right about the homemade mayo point. I love your comment about your yia yia and theRead More store-bought yogurt. Priceless!

One of my all-time favs. Now V, I am hoping that you will bless us with your renditions of cocktailRead More weenies (pigs in a blanket) and deviled eggs. IMO, no Super Bowl party is complete without those as well......
