Any terrorist suspects questioned yet?

PR - It appears that the writer of this item is none other than McMurphy who has been polluting the…Read More Patch since the new format arose (just click on the writer's name and you will be taken to McMurphy's profile page). This person is also Randall McMurphy and all the old names including AZ. From all indications, he/she is also DB Cooper so this person is posting on this Board and then commenting on his/her own posts. As someone pointed out a couple of weeks ago, trying to trick other readers is a violation of the Patch's rules, and yet it continues.

A good pediatrician will be sensitive to your concerns, while assuring that your child receives proper help, as needed. If you can't comfortably speak to your child's pediatrician, you've got the 'wrong' pediatrician!
2) Are there any health care professionals amongst family and friends that you trust? See if they will advise you with discretion.
3) If you have a trusted clergy person in your life who knows your family, speak with them for advice and referrals.
4) There are 'support groups' for parents with children who are mentally ill. Many of them will be happy to speak with you and guide you.

The question of where to turn as a parent is a tough one because as a parent it is difficult to take…Read More an objective view as to whether your child may or may not have a behavioral or mental health issie. A parent may not be attuned to a potential problem or be in denial of an issue.
Since behavior disorders in children often present with external signs, frequently a school counselor may be the first person to bring up a behavioral issue to a parent. The reason is two fold. First, as mentioned, a school counselor is not the childs parent so is able to take an objective and clinical view with regards to student behavior. Second, school counselors are trained professionals who have specific knowledge and skills that provide them with an ability to understand when student behavior may be simply a maturity issue, a child having a difficult phase of a temporary nature or whether an issue may be more complex requiring further examination.
Pre school and regular school teachers and counselors can provide a lot of feedback to parents regarding their child.

Very compelling comparison - do not listen to the people on ObamaCare, bulldoze through legislation…Read More without providing the American people access to read it...oh, they didn't provide it to their own party either. That being said the polls and statements regarding American people's positions need a hard look. THe UConn poll is silent as to geographic distribution and political distribution across the state and they used 'cell phone lines' in their polling. Quinnipiac appears to miss entire chunks of the United States in their polling. Obama's '40% of gun purchases are done without background checks' is inaccurate and from a meager poll of @200 Marylanders from 1994 - a poll that one of its authors states the answers were far to generalized to interpret properly.

Dear Narrative Interruptus,
Thank you for your comment. I am really glad that you have pointed out…Read More this issue as it is a big problem. Where I buy my fish in the city I am assured that the swordfish is hand caught. That being said, who really knows if that is the truth.
After listening to an interview of Sylvia Earle, who wrote, "The World Is Blue: How Our Fate and the Ocean's Are One," I was horrified at what is happening to our oceans. This is one of the reasons that I don't post many seafood/fish recipes. I definitely should have prefaced this recipe with, "only buy if your fishmonger sells hand caught swordfish."
Your comment has me thinking. If you would like to email me your approved list I would love to review it. You can email me at tinynewyorkkitchen@gmail.com.
Thanks again for your comment. I truly appreciate it.

Victoria,
I appreciate your recipes and have tried a couple with success. One question regarding…Read More swordfish, do you consider how they are caught? I had not and enjoyed swordfish (mostly grilled) but once I looked into the fishery, I decided to avoid swordfish for the past several years.
see, I am a recreational fisherman in the LI Sound and local rivers but I am almost entirely catch & release. My food fish come from the store. Thus, when I learned of the bycatch in swordfish fishing, I decided to take it off my approved list (along with Chilean sea bass and mako shark).
Bycatch refers to those other fish caught "by accident" by long liners and long net fisherman seeking swordfish and other large gamefish. Loggerhead turtles are just one such accidental catch and if they are "caught" (hooked or net fouled) they are dead. A simple Google search will list more.
If you can find "hand caught" or "day boat" swordfish, then you will know they were caught by rod and reel which prevents bycatch. Otherwise, if you care about these other species, you may wish to reconsider swordfish. Here's a simple test: if you only eat "dolphin free" tuna fish, you probably will have a problem with bycatch for swordfish and mako shark.
Great recipes generally. Thanks!
