Shabbat Across America - March 1st

Shabbat Across America will be celebrated across the nation, on March 1st. To celebrate this wonderful occasion with Congregation Beth El, call the office at 203-838-2710.

Norwalk, CT: Congregation Beth El will host a special event Friday, 1 March 2013, titled ‘Shabbat Across America’ in conjunction with other communities in the US.  Congregants and Guests will be able to enjoy a convivial Sabbath evening service, followed by a sumptuous dinner meal immediately afterward.  This event, open to the public, is a public recognition of the importance of observing the Sabbath, followed by the fellowship of a meal served family style for all.

Members and non-members are expected at this event.  Following a successful pattern of service and dinner, Congregation Beth El is hoping to attract new members to a vibrant Jewish community long established on Norwalk’s East Avenue, near to City Hall.  ‘We have always sought the feeding of the soul through our religious services but, on the night of this special event, we will also feed the body through our delicious home-cooked dinner meal on March 1st.  All should come for what will be an inspiring and thought-provoking evening,’ remarked Senior Rabbi Ron Fish, who will be officiating for the services and hosting the dinner.

The rabbi will be leading a sing-along including a number of Hebrew, English and surprise selections. Singing is often part of the joy of the Shabbat dinner experience.

Visitors may inquire at 203-838-2710.
