Wilton Real Estate: A Seller's Market This Spring?

With fewer than 100 Wilton houses on the market (the lowest since 2004) and since more than 250 homes sold in 2013, the current low inventory hints at a seller's spring market. Low supply always drives up prices, and encourages opening bids at the listing price and multiple bids thus putting sellers in control.  Last year's robust real estate sales and an improving economy will inevitably lead those who have been waiting for a healthier market to list their homes.  To what extent it will increase 2014's inventory and impact closing prices, only the coming months will tell.

Overall, the signs for another strong year in real estate sales are present: an economy in repair, continued lower mortgage rates, lower jobless numbers, and rising consumer confidence.  And, depending on inventory, maybe, just maybe a seller's market in Wilton.
