Nation's Top Athletic Movement Specialist in Rare Fairfield County Appearance

Wilton, CT – One of the nation’s top athletic movement specialists, Lee Taft, better known as “The Speed Guy,” comes to Fairfield County for the: “Moore Speed and Athletic Development Clinic” hosted by Moore Physical Therapy & Fitness at 37 Danbury Road, Wilton the weekend of September 22 and 23.

Partial proceeds from the event go to the Fairfield County Sports Commission’s Chelsea Cohen Fitness Academy – a countywide, collaborative effort to bring awareness and educational focus to the importance of underserved youth having access to an active and healthy lifestyle.

“When it comes to speed training Lee’s breakthrough multidirectional speed and agility program, ‘Ground Breaking Athletic Movement’ has revolutionized success for all field and court sport athletes,” says Jonathan Hudak, one of Moore Physical Therapy and Fitness's strength and performance coaches.

This is a great opportunity for young athletes, sports coaches and physical therapy professionals to learn from the best multi-directional speed coach in the business.”

Jimmer Fredette, of the NBA’s Sacramento Kings and 2011 NCAA Division 1 National Player of the year, is a great example of Lee Taft’s coaching success.  Taft has trained Jimmer since the age of five years old.  Hudak, who has known Taft for 20 years, emphasizes this ability of Taft to reach and train children.

“In today’s culture of win-at-all-cost youth athletics, everyone involved in youth sports could learn by simply watching Lee’s interaction with a group of kids – his focus on creating a solid foundation of varied movement skills, as well as an environment of trust, gives them the confidence and will to train harder as they get older.  True success is when they grow up to be fit and healthy as adults because of what they were exposed to as a kid.”

With stats showing 58 million Americans as overweight, 78% of Americans not meeting basic activity level requirements and childhood obesity tripling over the past two decades , physical fitness is no longer a luxury for elite athletes – it has become an imperative for everyone.

Moore Physical Therapy & Fitness is one of the area’s premier physical rehabilitation facilities.  Their focus on building physical health, strength, performance and wellness in clients works in perfect tandem with Taft’s own stated goal: “to champion the athletic development and healthy nutrition of young athletes.”

“This is an outstanding professional education opportunity for people to learn about having a training philosophy versus just administering a series of drills that create fatigue and give the illusion of a good workout,” says Bob Moore, CEO and founder of Moore PT.  “This weekend workshop will help to bridge the gap between therapy, general fitness techniques and athletic development specifically for the youth athlete.”

In the Saturday, September 22, 9 am – 4 pm workshop, Lee will share his systems for training athletes with Strength Coaches, Sports Coaches, Athletic Trainers and Physical Therapists.  The Sunday, September 23 workshop runs from 9 am – 1 pm and is a hands-on, interactive clinic for young athletes, Strength Coaches and Trainers who wish to observe and learn directly from Lee about dramatically improving speed, quickness and how to properly move the body.  To register visit www.moorept.com or call 203.307.4600.

Lee Taft is highly respected as one of the top athletic movement specialists in the country and is co-owner of Sports Speed, Etc., Inc. and President of Lee Taft Speed Academy, Inc.  Lee earned his B.S. in Physical Education from Cortland State and M.S. in Sports Science from the United States Sports Academy.  Lee is certified by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), a Sports Performance Coach certified by USA Weightlifting (SPC.)  He is also a certified Level 1 Track and Field Coach by the USA Track & Field (USATF level 1.) For the past 20 years Lee has worked with many athletes of all ages and abilities.  Known as “The Speed Guy” his major focus and passion has been in the athletic development of young athletes.

Moore Physical Therapy & Fitness is the area’s premier physical rehabilitation facility with four current locations in Wilton, Stamford, Darien and Southport.  Established in 1990 by Robert Moore, the staff at Moore PT is made up of health care professionals ranging from certified athletic trainers, nutritionists and licensed physical therapists to certified and licensed strength and conditioning specialists.

BOSTON (Reuters) - The average 401(k) retirement balance for U.S. workers hit a record high of $80,900 in the first quarter, a growth spurt of 75 percent since the stock market's nadir in March 2009, Fidelity Investments said on Thursday based on a survey of its accounts. Most of the recovery is linked to a stock market rally that has lifted the broad S&P 500 Index 145 percent since the close of trading on March 9, 2009. The 401(k) recovery looks even better for workers 55 and older, according to Boston-based Fidelity, the largest U.S. administrator of 401(k) retirement plans. Those pre-retirement workers have seen their average balance nearly double to $255,000 since the first quarter of 2009 when the average balance was $130,700. The analysis covers people who have been with their current employer 10 or more years, Fidelity said.

The suspects spoke to camera after attack. “We swear by Almighty Allah, we will never stop fighting you until you leave us alone. Israel knows who their enemy is and are not afraid to call them out. After 4 Americans were killedRead More by terrorists in Benghazi, when violence in the Middle East was raging, President Obama in partnership with Hillary Clinton spent $70,000 in taxpayer money on a commercial that aired on Pakistani television apologizing for the "video." We are sorry. We are going to get the man who made the video who exercised freedom of speech and arrest him. Any terrorist suspects questioned yet?

PR - It appears that the writer of this item is none other than McMurphy who has been polluting theRead More Patch since the new format arose (just click on the writer's name and you will be taken to McMurphy's profile page). This person is also Randall McMurphy and all the old names including AZ. From all indications, he/she is also DB Cooper so this person is posting on this Board and then commenting on his/her own posts. As someone pointed out a couple of weeks ago, trying to trick other readers is a violation of the Patch's rules, and yet it continues.
