OBSITNIK TO HIMES: GROW A BACKBONE
Obsitnik calls on Himes to demand stronger action against Iran
Today Steve Obsitnik, candidate for U.S. Congress, called on Congressman Jim Himes to demand that President Obama take a break from campaigning and meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to avoid a nuclear Iran.
“The United States has no greater friend in the region than Israel,” said Steve Obsitnik. “As a friend, we must do all we can to protect the people and the state of Israel.”
A Navy veteran and submarine officer who served in this strategic area, Steve Obsitnik knows firsthand the importance of our relationship with Israel.
“Congressman Himes claims to be a friend of Israel, yet has been silent,” said Obsitnik. “He was silent when his party inexplicably dropped language from its official platform naming Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. And he’s silent now as the Obama Administration ducks a meeting with Israeli officials as they ask for stronger action to avoid a nuclear Iran. When Congressman Himes does speak out about this region, it is to accuse Israel of collective punishment when it was defending its citizens against the terrorist group, Hamas.”
"I call on Congressman Himes to demand that President Obama meet with Prime Minister Netanyahu and take a stronger, more definitive stance to avoid a nuclear Iran.”
