The Wilton Playshop Announces its 76th Season and a Fundraising Partnership with Solude Coffee

The Wilton Playshop, Wilton’s community theater since 1937, has announced its 2012-13 season and a new fundraising partnership with Solude coffee.

Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, adapted by Jeffrey Hatcher, from the novella

Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde by Robert Louis Stevenson will be presented on October 26, 27, 28 and November 1, 2, 3, 2012. Directed by Mat Young, it is the timeless tale about the good doctor, Henry Jekyll, and his dark echo, Edward Hyde. It is brought to the stage in a fiercely theatrical new adaptation. Stripping away the melodrama and romantic distractions of the novel, Hatcher develops a smart and suspenseful new take on Stevenson’s look at the evil that lurks in the hearts of men. Against the backdrop of Victorian London, the respectable Dr. Jekyll has begun to display alarmingly erratic behavior. At the same time, a brutal figure haunts the city’s streets, committing assault and murder under the cloak of darkness and dismal London fog. A terrified community tries to learn the secret of the deaths and discovers much more in the dark depths of the human heart.

The Drowsy Chaperone, a musical based on the book by Bob Martin and Don McKellar will have performances on February 15, 16, 17, 21, 22, 23, 24, 28, March 1, 2, 2013. With music and lyrics by Lisa Lambert and Greg Morrison and directed by Don Bovingloh, The Drowsy Chaperone is both a riotous parody of 1920's screwball musical comedy and a heartfelt love letter to the musical genre as a whole. This Tony Award winning musical introduces us to the incomparable "Man In Chair", a musical theatre fanatic who takes us through the famed (and fictional) musical classic, The Drowsy Chaperone, complete with unforgettable characters, mistaken identities, dream sequences, gangsters, and spit takes, all revolving around a wacky wedding. With an instantly hummable score, high-flying choreography, and a one-of-a-kind host, we invite you to immerse yourself in the grand, glittery, and glorious world of The Drowsy Chaperone

The final show of the season will be the romantic comedy Enchanted April by Matthew Barber, adapted from the novel by Elizabeth Von Arnim and directed by Carin Zakes. Feeling lost in their marriages and within the rapidly shifting social currents of post-WWI London, two unhappy middle-class housewives rent a villa in Italy for an impulsive holiday away from their everyday lives, reluctantly recruiting a pair of independent upper-class women to share the cost and experience. There, among the wisteria blossoms and Mediterranean sunshine, all four clash – and then begin to bloom – rediscovering themselves in ways that they never could have imagined. Performances will be on April 26, 27, 28, May 2, 3, 4, 2013.

British soldier was hacked to death with a machete. The soldier is not allowed to have a gun but theRead More terrorists had a firearm but chose to behead the soldier. The suspects spoke to camera after attack. “We swear by Almighty Allah, we will never stop fighting you until you leave us alone. The only reasons we killed this man is because Muslims are dying daily. This British soldier is an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth. We apologize that woman had to see this today, but in our lands our women have to see the same. You people will never be safe. Remove your government. They don’t care about you.”

Israel knows who their enemy is and are not afraid to call them out. After 4 Americans were killedRead More by terrorists in Benghazi, when violence in the Middle East was raging, President Obama in partnership with Hillary Clinton spent $70,000 in taxpayer money on a commercial that aired on Pakistani television apologizing for the "video." We are sorry. We are going to get the man who made the video who exercised freedom of speech and arrest him. Any terrorist suspects questioned yet?

PR - It appears that the writer of this item is none other than McMurphy who has been polluting theRead More Patch since the new format arose (just click on the writer's name and you will be taken to McMurphy's profile page). This person is also Randall McMurphy and all the old names including AZ. From all indications, he/she is also DB Cooper so this person is posting on this Board and then commenting on his/her own posts. As someone pointed out a couple of weeks ago, trying to trick other readers is a violation of the Patch's rules, and yet it continues.

@DB Cooper: Oh, you mean how you used your multiple personalities and screen names to flag me intoRead More oblivion? The thing is, it won't work this time. Try again, stalker. Try harder. LOL! You don't have enough fake personalities this time around to do such a thing. Thanks again for stopping by my blog. :) LOL! Hook, line, sinker.
