More than one hundred wine glasses catch the sparkle of the gallery lights when Wilton Library holds its fourth annual Wine Tasting Fundraiser on Thursday, November 8, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. The dazzling display of glassware is a festive reminder that the holidays are quickly approaching. “We started this fundraiser a few years ago at this time because it’s a benefit for the library, and it’s the perfect time to begin planning holiday parties and the wines that go with them,” said Anne Rowlands, development director for the library. The fundraiser is presented by New Canaan Wine Merchants, owned by Jeff Barbour, a library trustee, with several area restaurants and a caterer providing delicious hors d’oeuvres to be paired with the wines from around the world. This year’s wines will be complemented by delicacies from Barcelona Sono, Bianco Rosso, Bistro 7, Cactus Rose Cantina, Luca Wine Bar, Luca Ristorante Italiano, Market to Table (caterer), and Marly’s. Tasting notes and an overview of the wines are all part of the evening, so people will have a chance to sip, savor and learn. Wilton Magazine is media sponsor for the event.
Tickets are $50 per person and may be purchase online at www.wiltonlibrary.org, or at the Circulation Desk. For the enjoyment of all attendees, admission will be limited to the first 125 people. Ten percent of all sales resulting from the evening (for which free delivery is available) will benefit the library as well. Wilton Library is located at 137 Old Ridgefield Road in the heart of Wilton Center. For more information, call 203-762-3950, ext 216.
