Local Restaurant and Residents Team Up Against MS

STAMFORD, Conn. – Pam Lind, of Wilton, knows how to throw a party, and this year, she’s doing it for a cure. Lind and her team will belly up to the bar, Tracks Bar and Restaurant in Stamford that is, to host an evening of food and fun – all to benefit a cause near and dear to her heart.

On Thursday, April 3, Tracks Bar and Restaurant in Stamford will host night of food, drinks and fun to benefit the 2014 Walk MS, presented by Travelers. Every year, teams come together to step out to raise funds and awareness about multiple sclerosis, with which Lind was diagnosed in 2005.

In 2013, in an ironic twist of fate, Lind’s half-sister, Alicia Tietelbaum, of Stamford, was also diagnosed with MS. Together, they have formed ‘Team Flutterby’ and will step out for the first time as fellow soldiers in the fight against MS this April.

To kick off their Walk MS team debut, they have organized an evening of drinks, food, raffles and live entertainment, all available for $25 in advance and $30 at the door.

Ticketholders are entitled to a drink and appetizer as well as happy hour prices from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. The event will feature a silent auction, 50/50 raffle and a teacup raffle as well as live music by Outatime.

Among the prizes available for auction and raffle are four tickets for the 2014 Yankee season, which includes access to the general manager’s box, parking, food and drink. Other prizes include vouchers for yoga packages, private in-home training sessions as well as gift cards to local restaurants.

This year, Team Flutterby will walk at Commons Park at Harbor Point in Stamford. More than 10,000 Connecticut residents will step out for the 2014 Walk MS, presented by Travelers, which will be held Saturday, April 5, in Madison and Westport and Sunday, April 6, at 10 walk sites across the state.

Team Flutterby’s event is an example of “Do It Yourself” fundraising. DIY fundraising gives members of the MS community the opportunity to raise awareness and funds for the MS movement. Funds raised by the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Connecticut Chapter, through events such as Walk MS, ensure ongoing scientific research to find better treatments and a cure, and provide vital programs and services offered by the chapter.

Tracks Bar and Restaurant is located at 920 Hope Street in Stamford, CT. Tickets purchased in advance are $25 and $30 at the door with cash or check only. Contact Pam Lind to purchase tickets in advance by phone at 203-505-2171 or email at pamlind29@gmail.com.
