July 5: Wilton DTC Staging Food Drive at Fireworks Celebration

At the Wilton Fireworks Celebration, Have a Good Time and Do Something Good … Donate to the “P2P Picnic Drive”

On Saturday, July 5 the Wilton Democratic Town Committee (Wilton DTC) is staging a Food Drive to benefit the Person-to-Person (P2P) Emergency Food Pantry in Norwalk.

There are so many people in our community who are never sure where their next meal is coming from – in 2013, P2P provided food for nearly 550,000 meals – and to help keep the Pantry well-stocked, P2P relies on food donations from people like you.

So while you’re at the market picking up food for your weekend picnics and barbecues, we hope you’ll add a little something extra to your cart and then bring it along with you to drop-off before the fireworks.

Any non-perishable items are welcome, but P2P has a particular need for Canned Fruit, Cereal, Cookies, Juice, and Peanut Butter & Jelly.

We’ll be collecting your donations at our Wilton DTC booth on School Road (across from the tennis courts) starting at 5:30 pm. We look forward to seeing you there.

On behalf of all the people who come to P2P for food and will be helped by your generosity, we thank you.
