Diabetes Prevention and Treatment Forum at Norwalk City Hall

Monday night diabetes forum is sponsored by the Wilton Y, the Norwalk Hospital and the Norwalk Health Department.

"When Sugar Matters" is a forum to discuss diabetes prevention & treatment. The event takes place Mon., November 18, from 6:30-8:00pm at Norwalk City Hall, 125 East Avenue in Norwalk.  

Sponsored by the Wilton YMCA, this is a chance to find out if you are at risk for Diabetes and learn how you can manage diabetes and prevent Type II diabetes.  

Meet a panel of experts who will help explain the disease, dispel the myths and help better understand how healthy lifestyles can make a positive change in our lives.

Panelists include:

  • Cindy Kozak,  RD, MPH, CDE registered dietician and certified diabetes educator from the State Department of Health & Chronic Diseases
  • Barbara Nadolny, RN, BSN, CDE registered nurse and certified diabetes educator; coordinator of the Diabetes Education program for the Norwalk Hospital
  • Theresa Argondezzi, MPH,CHES-Health Educator, Norwalk Department of Health
  • Santina Galbo, MS, CHES- Health Education Associate, Norwalk Department of Health


From 6:30-7:00pm, prior to panel discussion, there will be information, brief consultations and risk assessments. Free Glucose screening will be available. Meet with the nutritionist Loryn Galardi who will be available to answer your questions and review your diet.
