Helping Seniors Stay Safely In Their Homes

Every year, two million seniors are treated for non-fatal falls, most of which occur in their own homes. And while studies show that remaining in their home, or aging in place, causes Seniors to live happier, healthier and longer lives, this is only the case if their home environment is safe. Communities need to better understand how to assist those who will become some of our most vulnerable citizens. Join us on Sunday, April 22nd as we discuss the most important safety issues facing all of us with aging friends and loved ones. Alison Rhodes Jacobson, The Safety Mom, is a national family safety expert and founder of Safety Mom Solutions, a senior safety and home modification company.  During this presentation we will discuss various concerns, how to recognize signs there might be a problem and provide resources to assist our aging parents and relatives. This will include:

• Fall prevention measures

• Recognizing signs that your parents might not be caring for themselves
