Flash Flood Warning in Effect Through Tuesday Night [UPDATED]

The U.S. National Weather Servicehas issued a flash flood warning for Fairfield County through Tuesday evening. Showers and thunderstorms will move across the region through late Tuesday night due to a warm, humid airmass ahead of a cold front. 

Torrential downpours are expected with flooding.  A total of 2-3" of rain is expected. 
Use caution when driving in low lying areas. Rivers and streams may flood beyond their banks as well. 

As of 7:45 p.m. Monday evening, the storm has knocked power out to 256 homes in Wilton, according to CL&P's outage map. To report an outage or downed wires, call (800) 286-2828.
