Nighttime Work on Merritt Parkway in Westport and Norwalk Starts Monday

The spot milling project starts at 7 p.m. Monday and is expected to wrap up Friday morning. Be prepared for nighttime lane closures.

The Connecticut Department of Transportation's nighttime spot milling will be performed along the Merritt Parkway (Route 15) northbound and southbound in Westport and Norwalk beginning Monday, Aug. 5.

The work consists of spot milling bumps on a 3.2-mile segment of Route 15. This project is scheduled to start at 7 p.m. Monday and continue through the morning of Friday, Aug. 9

Motorists can expect alternating lane closures to occur on Route 15 northbound and southbound between Exit 40A (SR 719, Main Avenue) and Exit 41 (Route 33, Wilton Road) in Norwalk and Westport. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will guide motorists through the work zone. The regular work schedule for this project is 7 p.m. to 5 a.m., Monday through Friday.

Commuters should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions, according to the Department of Transportation. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
