National Weather Service forecast Overnight:
Total nighttime snow accumulation of 3 to 7 inches possible. The snow could be heavy at times. Low around 7. Wind chill values as low as -9. 
NWS forecast for Wednesday:
Snow likely before 7:00am, then a slight chance of snow between 7am and 10am. Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming sunny, with a high near 15. Wind chill values as low as -10. Northwest wind 15 to 17 mph, with gusts as high as 28 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%.

New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

UPDATE Jan. 21, 5:20p.m.: 
 League of Women Voters. Due to the inclement weather, we are canceling the legislative breakfast planned for Wednesday.  We hope to reschedule at a later date.

Wilton YMCA Work LIke A Mother Open House WILL be meeting from 7:00-8:00pm Wednesday Night 1/22. Due to Snow, the Morning Open House originally scheduled from 10-11am will be moved to Friday January 24 from 10-11am

Gov. Malloy has ordered staggered Early Release for Nonessential State Employees. The Governor has also directed the activation of the state’s Emergency Operations Center(EOC) at 3:00PM today to monitor conditions across the state and quickly coordinate any assistance that may be necessary.

Please be advised that due inclement weather conditions, the scheduled January 21 meetings, at 7:30PM for the Board of Selectman and 6:30PM for the Fire Commission have been cancelled.

UPDATE: 3:10p.m. Wilton YMCA 
Weather Alert: The Y is open but due to the inclement weather we will close at 4pm today and open no earlier than 10am tomorrow. Please check the website for updates before coming in on Wednesday, 1/22/14. All afternoon program classes, babysitting, swim team practice, Neighborhood Club, Child Watch and Student Union are cancelled today.

UPDATE: 3:00p.m.:  TownHall 
Please be advised that due to the inclement weather conditions and prediction for increasing winds and snow accumulations during the afternoon commuting hours, Town Hall will be closing 1.5 hours early today January 21, 2014.  The Land Use offices will be closing at 2:30 PM and Town Hall offices be closing at 3:00 PM today.

The Wilton Schools will operate on an early dismissal schedule today, Tuesday, January 21. Wilton High School and Middlebrook will dismiss at 10:30 a.m.

Dress appropriately for windy, cold weather, the National Weather Service advises, because frostbite is a danger in this weather.

The weather service predicts as much as 2 to 4 inches during the day and another 3 to 7 inches at night in Wilton. and the National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning

The weather service's "Winter Storm Warning" states: "Snowfall will begin late Tuesday morning and will continue through tonight, tapering off early Wednesday morning. The heeaviest snowfall will occur late this afternoon into tonight."

"Impacts: Falling, blowing and drifting snow will cause hazardous travel and walking conditions across the area, possibly impacting the late afternoon and evening commute. Prolonged exposure to frigid cold and low wind chills could cause frostbite. Dress appropriately."

The warning is for an area including central and southern Connecticut, the lower Hudson Valley and northern New Jersey.
