The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for southern Connecticut including Wilton as well as all of Fairfield, New Haven, Middlesex and New London counties until 10 p.m. Monday, Oct. 7.
That watch also is in effect for Long Island, east of New York City.
