Wilton Library Summer Book Sale Hits Sidewalks Saturday

The Wilton Library will be holding its Summer Sidewalk Book Sale on Saturday as part of the Wilton Sidewalk Sale and Street Fair.

The sale will be held in front of the library from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Janet Crystal, marketing communications manager for Wilton Library, said there will be a variety of books at the sale.

"(We'll have) a number of tables up that are going to be loaded with fun beach reads," Crystal said.

She also said there will be "pristine golf books," "a collection of art books" and children's and teen reads.

The books will be replenished from the library's downstairs collection of donated books as the day goes on, and proceeds from the sales will go toward furthering the library's book collection, among other things, Crystal said.

Crystal said book donations are accepted throughout the year, so those who want to donate books for this weekend's sale can drop them off at the book bins on Godfrey Place. She said community donations are part of what make the sale what it is.

"The donations that we get from the community are extraordinary. The books are always in such great condition," Crystal said. "The values are pretty terrific."

There will be tents up at the sale in case of rain, Crystal said.

As of Wednesday afternoon, the forecast for Saturday is predicting temperatures up to 86 degrees and a 60 percent chance of rain, according to the Weather Channel
