Wilton, CT,  March 5, 2010 – The "stars" of Wilton and Broadway will join together on Saturday, March 27th for a Benefit production "Sing Me A Story" to support the ongoing rebuilding of the Wilton Playshop's antique building, which was first built in 1871 as an annex to the First Congregational Church.

The Benefit production, "Sing Me A Story," will bring together some of Wilton's most celebrated performers, many with professional credentials to support the ongoing fund raising efforts. It is being hosted by Wilton's Beverly Ward, an acclaimed   Broadway actress and singer who has traveled the world with her equally talented husband and tap dancing partner Kirby.  The cast includes Donald Birely, Kate Castel, Lynne Colatrella, Kevin Cooper, Danielle DeCrette, Janice Dehn, Mary Jo Duffy, Meg Fuentes, Sarah Lee Michaels, Burke Moses, Jeff Porper, Ellen Porto, Sarah Pfisterer, Zelie Pforzheimer, Susan Terry, and Kirby Ward. As the title reveals, the production will feature favorite "storysongs" from Broadway shows and beyond.

"Sing Me A Story" will have two productions on March 27th, the first at 4PM and the second at 8PM.  Attendees have three different options they can select to show support – all of which feature a champagne and chocolate tasting reception at intermission.  The options include: "The Big Ballad" which includes a post performance dinner at one of three private Wilton homes; "The Love Song" which includes a wine bar and hors d'oeuvres reception and "The Charm Song" which features a champagne and chocolate tasting reception.

"We've only just started to make all the improvements necessary to make the building fully functional," explained Wilton Playshop President Zelie Pforzheimer.  "We made a significant investment this year in fixing part of our roof and have another major roofing project that desperately needs to be done.  This is a very old building with a lot of charm and great historic meaning to the Town but as an old building, it needs a lot of work.  As its caretakers we understand how important it is to maintain and rebuild when necessary."

Many local businesses are donating goods and services to support the production including The Village Market, River Road Gallery, Beardsley Gallery, Dina! and Bon Appétit.

Now in its 72nd season, The Wilton Playshop is one of the longest running community theaters in the State.
