Connecticut's Own Sunday Concert Series -- Kirmser, Nobles & Raposo

Wilton Library is pleased to announce the return of its popular free Sunday concert series, Connecticut’s Own, Nov. 6, from 4 to 5 p.m. with three of Wilton’s own – Ralph Kirmser on oboe, Kyle Noble on piano and Jessica Raposo on flute.  None of the performers are strangers to Wilton Library’s audience, each having played on the Brubeck Room stage previously, either as soloists or as part of other chamber groups. The trio will be playing selections from Simon A. Sargon, Madeleine Dring, Astor Piazzolla and Jean-Michel Damase. 

Ralph Kirmser is the oboist for the Prevailing Winds Quintet of Connecticut and The Morningside Wind Quintet, NYC. During his undergraduate years at Dartmouth College, he was principal oboist for The Vermont Symphony Orchestra. He has given solo performances at Symphony Space and The Donnell Library, NYC, The Pequot Library in Southport, The Sienna Center in Watermill, NY, and The University of Western Ontario, London, Ontario. Dr. Kirmser is a cardiologist with Cardiology Associates of Fairfield County. He and his wife, Sally, and their three children have been lived in Wilton, CT for 33 years.    

            Kyle Nobles, piano, holds a Master's degree in accompanying from the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston. Kyle has served on the music staff of the Juilliard School, the Mannes College of Music, the University of Connecticut at Storrs, and the Hartt School of Music. Kyle lives in Wilton with his wife Janet, who many in the area may know from her years of teaching music at Middlebrook School in Wilton.

Jessica Raposo is a freelance flutist, conductor, and teacher in Fairfield County. She has earned music degrees from the University of Michigan (BM), the Royal Academy of Music (London), and the University of British Columbia (Vancouver). In addition to her private teaching, Jessica teaches at Fairfield University and several community colleges, and she also conducts the flute choirs of the Stamford Young Artists Philharmonic program.  

There is no charge for the Connecticut’s Own concert series. Advance registration is highly recommended due to the popularity of the series.  People who have pre-registered should arrive before 3:50 to be guaranteed seating.  Waitlisted and walk-in registrants will be seated after 3:50 if space is available.  Wilton Library is located at 137 Old Ridgefield Road in the heart of Wilton Center.  For information, directions or registration, visit www.wiltonlibrary.org or call 203-762-3950, ext. 213.
