Ghost Wing Challenge

People traveling to Ridgefield for the Fall for Ridgefield events are encouraged to stop by first annual Branchville Oktoberfest on Saturday October 15th  for beer, brats, music, fun, and a ghost wing eating contest that starts at 1:00. Little Pub is running a wing eating contest using their infamous “ghost” wings made with a supernaturally hot pepper sauce derived from India’s bhut jolokia “ghost pepper”,  the world’s hottest pepper.

In 2007, the Guinness Book of world records named the ghost chili pepper the hottest pepper on earth. Rating a scorching 1,001,304 Scoville Heat Units (300x hotter than a jalapeno).  These peppers are actually weaponized by the Indian military to make pepper spray, in fact, when preparing the ghost wing sauce, little pub chefs have to wear gloves and face masks when handling the uncooked ghost chili peppers.

The Branchville Oktoberfest is being held in the Ancona Market parking lot from 12-4 pm on October 15th 2011. rain or shine.
