Lost Story of 'Farmerettes' at Author Talk

Celebrate Women's History Month as Wilton Library continues its Author Talk series Thursday, March 18, with Elaine Weiss, author of Fruits of Victory - The Woman's Land Army of America. The talk takes place 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the library's Brubeck Room.

Weiss tells the lost story of the controversial "farmerettes," who, during World War I, did a man's job in military-type garb on the rural homefront. In the 90 years hence, the farmerette's story has never been told, according to Weiss.

Author Talk takes place in the library's Brubeck Room. Admission is free; registration is recommended. To register, call 203-762-3950 or visit www.wiltonlibrary.org/events.
