Wilton Children's Theater Summer Stage Production THE WIZ

THE WIZ, with book by William F. Brown and music and lyrics by Charlie Smalls, is

based on the classic story “The Wizard of Oz” In this modern version, it’s a fanciful and

mysterious dream of Dorothy’s adventures in the Land of Oz set to music in a dazzling

mix of rock, gospel and soul. Dorothy encounters a hip Scarecrow, an uptight Tin Man

and of course the cowardly Lion. A “live” yellow brick road guides the friends to seek

the Great Oz in the flashy Emerald City. Will all their dreams come true? Will Dorothy

go home? Will there be Witches, Winged Monkeys and Munchkins? Come to this

fabulous production and find out!

The show is a culmination of a four-week summer theater experience and features

students entering grades 7 through 10.

Tickets are $10 and will be available during rehearsal at The Clune Center, from July

11th through 15th, from 9am to 2pm, and will be sold at the door one hour prior to each

performance. All seats are general admission
