St. Paddy's Day, Maple Syrup and Puppets

St. Patrick's Day activities, sweet maple syrup and puppet making are on the calendar for this week.

Where/When: Ambler Farm in Wilton/Sunday, March 13 from noon to 1 p.m.

Why Go: Fun afternoon event about everyone’s sweet late winter treat: maple syrup. Learn about maple syrup’s history, visit the interactive tap-a-tree station, and end the event with a delicious bowl of vanilla ice cream topped with Ambler Farm’s very own syrup.

Why Go: Bring the kids to the library to make a holiday-themed craft. While there, why not pick out a book or movie for yourself?

Where/When: Wilton Library/Wednesday, March 16, from 4 – 4:30 p.m.

Who Go: Bring kids of all ages to listen to classic Irish tales.

Where/When: Stepping Stones Museum for Children Norwalk/Saturday, March 12 at 2 p.m.    

Why Go: Get children going on a puppet-making frenzy. Create an animal puppet with the famous puppeteer who recently published a book, “10-Minute Puppets,” and has worked on such shows as "Sesame Street" and "Bear in the Big Blue House."

Price: Adults and children $12, children under a year old free, and seniors are $10. Members are free. 

Where/When: Giant Steps in Fairfield/Saturday, March 12, 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Why Go: Kids ages 3 to 10 are invited to hunt for the many little men dressed in green hiding in the store. Find the most and get a prize. Arrive on-time to get the most out of the morning’s event.
