Readers' Choice: Favorite Steak in Wilton

This week, we're asking Wilton Patch readers and account-holders for their favorite restaurant to get a steak.

Real meat-lovers probably never put the cover on their grills this winter, mild or not, and made regular trips to Wilton center for replacement canisters of propane.

Grilling season’s first big stretch of the year is around the corner (Memorial Day weekend), and that put your local Patch editors in the mood to set this week’s Readers' Choice contest: Favorite Local Restaurant for a Steak.

We want to know not only where you go when you’re in the mood for a ribeye or New York strip, but also what’s your favorite cut at that restaurant and what the chef does right in preparation. Is it the magical seasoning? The perfect temperature? The complement of potatoes and vegetables?

As always, this week’s Readers’ Choice contest winner will be decided not only by readers who cast their votes in the poll, but also—including in tie-breakers—by Patch account-holders who post their reviews in Wilton Patch’s online business directory for future readers to find.

Contest rules are attached.

Thank you to our local restaurants for keeping us well-fed and happy, and thank you to our readers for your participation. To our local vegetarians and vegans, please know that we haven’t forgotten you and that a Readers’ Choice installment geared specifically to your diets is on its way soon!

Below is our starter list of contestants (travel beyond Wilton for your steak? Then vote in our , DarienStamford or Norwalk contests). Please scroll down to vote, let us know what places we’re missing here by posting a comment, and click on the link below to post your review (please also feel free to upload a pic of your favorite steak by clicking on the "Upload Photos & Videos button above):

Missing Marley's and Cactus Rose. And maybe there should be an option to vote for Portafino's if it's going to reopen.

Please remove orems and outback from this conversation. Marleys, Luca and Schoolhouse are the only real contenders. There other two are like voting for nader.

All good choices, but without a doubt, the best steak in Wilton is served at Rolling Hills Country Club. The cuts of meat are as good as anything you would get in a New York Steakhouse. Whether you are a member or dining at one of the many private parties/charity events, you will not be disappointed if you order a steak. Add a lively bar scene and outdoor dining overlooking a beautiful golf course and it makes it really hard to beat.

Amen!

Rolling Hills has been added -- thank you. Be sure to post a review in the directory listing http://patch.com/L-jBT ... p.s. LOVE the Nader comment, LOL!
