Too Busy to Grocery Shop in the Store? Pick Them Up Curbside with Peapod

Stop & Shop shoppers can now pick up their online grocery orders curbside at the Wilton Center supermarket.

The convenience of online shopping with the speed of picking up your groceries at your leisure. Welcome to Stop & Shop's new curbside pick up through its Peapod service.

The supermarket chain has been rolling out the curbside option at various stores over the last several months, and now shoppers of its Wilton Center store can participate.

A shopper orders groceries online at the store's website and then chooses a prearranged pick up time that works for them.

The store has designated parking spots on the side of the building where store personnel will bring out the groceries and help pack them in the car. No need to tip, the store employees have been instructed not to accept them.

According to Charmane Lawrence, one of the store's mangers, shoppers are beginning to catch on. The service is free with no minimum order amount.

Shop & Shop rolled out the service in Wilton Center - and at its Route 7 store in Norwalk - at the same time earlier this summer. Its home delivery service through Peapod has been around for several years.

"We have days with six or seven pick ups," said Lawrence. "People really seem to like the convenience."
