Local mom turned entrepreneur, Megan LaBant Abrahamsen, owner of Blue Star Bazaar, LLC is set to open a boutique in Wilton next month.
The shop, which will be located in the Old Hurlbutt Street Post Office at Lambert Corner at 146 Danbury Rd, will feature apparel for women and children, accessories (including jewelry, handbags, and scarves), and heirloom quality toys.
A grand opening is scheduled for Saturday, November 9, 2013 from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm. Refreshments, special discounts, and free prizes will be offered throughout the day.
According to LaBant Abrahamsen, the building which will be the new home to Blue Star Bazaar was previously located on Hurlbutt Street and housed a general store with a post office operating from 1891 to 1901. The building was donated to the Wilton Historical Society in 1964 by Bob Carvutto and moved to Lambert Corners.
"I grew up in Wilton, graduated from Wilton High School, and have returned to town to raise my family and build my business," LaBant Abrahamsen said. "The chance to occupy a historical building here holds special meaning for me. I am committed to the Town of Wilton and the community here and hope to establish a long term and successful business at 146 Danbury Road."
