February is American Heart Month: Are you Ready and Willing to Save a Life?

February is American Heart Month and learning CPR is a great way to give the ultimate gift of life.  Nancy Capelle, Founder, Cardiac Companion, LLC is an American Heart Association Certified BLS Instructor who offers private CPR class throughout Fairfield County.

“The, knowledge of cardiopulmonary resuscitation and the use of an automatic external defibrillator by laypeople can dramatically improve the chance of survival of someone experiencing cardiac arrest when performed in the first few minutes of an arrest,” says Nancy, herself a cardiac arrest survivor.

Nancy shares how to recognize a cardiac emergency, what do to in a cardiac emergency, dispels myths and highlights the science behind the current recommendations. In addition, Nancy is an Emergency Medical Technician and shares with her students what it’s really like to perform CPR on a patient.
