Interfaith Vigil in Wilton Center on Sunday

The town plans to hold a ceremony to remember those who died in the tragedy in Newtown last week.

Plans to honor the memory of those who lost their lives in the school shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School last week—as well as show support for grieving families—are underway in Wilton.

On Sunday, Dec. 23, a candelight interfaith vigil is scheduled to take place near the gazebo in Wilton Center, starting at 6 p.m., according to the town's website.

"As plans are finalized, more details will be posted on the Town’s website," the announcement reads. "The town of Wilton’s Memorial Vigil will be one of many vigils being held statewide by many other Connecticut communities on this date.  All are welcome to attend."
