Pond Road Residents Told to Remain Indoors, Shut Windows due to Chemical Spill

Norwalk, Trumbull, and Fairfield County hazmats are assisting with decontamination.

UPDATE: 11:36 am: Residents in the Pond Road Area are being asked to stay indoors and close their windows according to a report from the scene.

A "small" chemical spill has occured on the residential neighborhood of 26* Pond Road, according to the Wilton Fire Department. 

Police scanner reports indicate that no one has been injured and that sodium sulfate and calcium peroxide have been injected into the ground as a decontaminant**. Fairfield County and Norwalk hazmat are on the scene. Trumbull will be providing a decontaminantion unit, according to scanner reports.
