Adair Burlingham Memorial Lecture: Jock Reynolds - The Yale Art Gallery's Recent Renovation, Expansion and Reinstallation

Friday, Nov. 1 Adair Burlingham Memorial Lecture: Jock Reynolds - The Yale Art Gallery's Recent Renovation, Expansion and Reinstallation, 7 – 8:30 p.m. Jock Reynolds, Director of the Yale University Art Gallery, will be the speaker at the annual Adair Burlingham Memorial Lecture. The lecture was established in 2007 in memory of the wife of Charles Burlingham, the grandson of the Impressionist artist Julian Alden Weir, and the current president of the Weir Farm Art Center. Mr. Reynolds will speak about Yale Art Gallery's recent renovation, expansion and reinstallation.  When founded by John Trumbull in 1832, the gallery occupied a single small building in the heart of Yale's Old Campus.  Now over 180 years later, the major renovation and expansion is complete, and with more than 4,000 works of art, the permanent collection galleries have been fully reinstalled. Please see the library’s registration link for more information about the speaker and Weir Farm.  Registration recommended. The Center and Wilton Library will co-sponsor a trip to New Haven to see the new Art Gallery on Tuesday, November 19th.  Wilton Library, 137 Old Ridgefield Road, Wilton; www.wiltonlibrary.org; (203) 762-3950.
