Wilton High School Jazz Symposium
Time to jazz it up! The Little Theater at Wilton High School is the place to be for the 37th Annual Annual Jazz Symposium on Friday, March 1, 2013 from 4:00 to 10:00 PM. Jazz ensembles from local high schools are scheduled to perform, including Wilton, Stamford, Newtown, Norwalk, Brien McMahon and Staples. Each will receive feedback on its performance from a panel of evaluators. Two other jazz ensembles performing are from NYU and the Berkshire Big Band. Led by director Chip Zellner, Berkshire Big Band features Wilton High band director Chip Gawle and assistant director John Rhodes, as well as other local band directors. Berkshire is expected to go on stage around 9:30 p.m. to close the day.
Rhodes started the symposium in 1976 to give high school ensembles an opportunity to showcase their music
