Youth to Youth/C.O.D.E.S. Leadership Conference

C.O.D.E.S., a Wilton Youth Council program, is a hosting a leadership conference for students of Wilton and surrounding communities on December 1st, 2012 from 9am-5pm. The purpose of the leadership conference is to promote youth leadership development and bring together students from Wilton and surrounding communities to make changes to current pressure teenagers experience.


 


The conference features the Red Watch Band training which is an interactive curriculum developed by Stony Brook University to teach high school and college students how to make important decisions about how to recognize peer pressures and when to help.

Students will actively participate in practicing making decisions when it comes to alcohol and drug use. The training also includes an abbreviated CPR training to enhance the information presented.

The conference also includes many team-building activities and opportunities to learn how to become leaders in the community. There will also be a presentation on social engineering and how students can use the information to make informed decisions when using the internet.
