Hoops for Habitat

Habitat for Humanity of CFC's Youth United    

5TH ANNUAL HOOPS FOR HABITAT

THE EVENT FEATURES:

A basketball scoring competition in four grade divisions

(a minimum of $25 in donations is required to play for a prize):

9:30-10:00am Elementary (grades 1-5)               10:00--10:30am Middle School (grades 6-8)

   10:30-11am and 1:30-2pm High School              2:00-2:45pm College     

 

A basketball techniques clinic conducted at 11:00-12:30 pm by:

NBA alumni Wes Matthews of the LA Lakers and Chris Smith of the Minnesota Timberwolves, and members of the men’s and women’s basketball teams from Sacred Heart University


12:30-1:15pm: Scrimmages for teams of five, ages 13 and up


Prizes awarded to the highest scorers, highest fundraisers, and raffle winners

Very reasonably priced food, drinks and FUN!

Non-fundraisers for HABITAT are welcome too, for a good will donation

($3.00 for kids, $5.00 adults suggested).

 

 

THREE WAYS TO WIN PRIZES:

  1. Highest point scorer in each grade division wins a $25 gift card (participant must have $25 in sponsors to be eligible for prizes)

     

  2. Highest sponsor dollars raised wins $100; the second highest fundraiser wins $50

     

  3. Raffle prizes (each fundraiser receives a ticket; additional tickets will be available for sale)

 

All donations are tax deductible and will be matched 100% by a State Farm Insurance grant.

 All the money raised at the HOOPS competition will be used to build a Habitat home.

About: Youth United is a part of Habitat that involves
youth between 5 and 25 years old. The program provides the youth with new ways
to get involved as volunteers. Youth United members come from 16 different
towns and Bridgeport and represent diverse backgrounds
