Kayaking Around the World: Jon Bowermaster with Daryl Hawk

Thursday, Sept. 19 WGG/WLA Speaker Series: Jon Bowermaster with Daryl Hawk, 7 – 8:30 p.m. For the past 25 years, writer/filmmaker and adventurer Jon Bowermaster has been traveling the world on behalf of the National Geographic Society studying up close the relationship between man and nature, specifically focused on water issues. His 10-year-long Oceans 8 project took him and his teams around the world by sea kayak, with stops on every continent to report on environmental issues. In the past four years his filming has taken him to Antarctica, the Galapagos, southern Louisiana and his own backyard in New York's Hudson Valley, where he's focused on the fight over fracking. Jon will be interviewed by international documentary photographer and Wilton resident Daryl Hawk.
