REEL Justice Film: How to Die in Oregon

Aid in Dying legislation is before the Public Health Committee in the Connecticut General Assembly and may come up for a vote in this session.  With that in mind REEL Justice Films will be showing Peter Richardson's groundbreaking documentary film, How to Die in Oregon.

The film is an intimate and personal look at the Death with Dignity laws in Oregon and Washington.  Four years in the making, Richardson gently enters the lives of the terminally ill as they consider whether – and when – to end their lives by lethal overdose. Richardson examines both sides of this complex, emotionally charged issue. What emerges is a life-affirming, staggeringly powerful portrait of what it means to die with dignity.

A representative of Compassion and Choices will be present for a post-screening discussion.
