On Sat., Dec. 14, at 10:30 at the Town’s War Memorial (just down the hill from Well Fargo and Pinocchio Pizza) Boy Scouts from Troop 125 will lead a ceremony that has become an Annual Wilton Tradition.
The Troop is honored to present six large wreaths to adorn the six pillars of the Town’s War Memorial to 2nd Selectman Harold Clark.
State Senator Toni Boucher, Representative Gail Lavielle and American Legion Post Vice Commander Glass have also graciously agreed to participate in the ceremony. At the conclusion of the ceremony, “Taps” played by Troop 20 Bugler, Jordan Reichgut will echo through the hills of Wilton.”
Then it is off to Hillside Cemetery where the assembled will distribute over 100 wreaths to be placed on the graves of fallen service men and women resting there.
As one scout said … “The Holiday’s are the perfect time for my Boy Scout Troop to do something important for our Town. Families are busy with all the hustle and bustle that the season always brings and taking a break from that for a morning - to stop and actually remember and honor the fallen heroes of Wilton is really important to our Troop”.
All of Wilton is enthusiastically encouraged and welcome to attend !
