Kiwanis Fundraiser to Benefit Visiting Nurse and Wilton Youth Council

The Kiwanis Club of Wilton invites the community to a fun and purposeful day of golf and dining, including silent auction, raffles and prizes on Monday, September 30, 2013 at the Silvermine Golf Club.

The day will begin with lunch on the patio at 11:30a.m. and a 12:30p.m. shotgun start for the eighteen-hole players, followed by the nine-holers’  tee-off at 2:45p.m..  Both groups will conclude with an open-bar awards reception and heavy hors d’oeuvres. 

Proceeds will benefit Visiting Nurse & Hospice of Fairfield County, the Wilton Youth Council  as well as the Wilton Kiwanis Foundation. Tournament participation is an excellent way to show your support for the community and these fine organizations. Players and groups of all sizes will be arranged into foursomes as needed. Organizers also welcome all levels of sponsorship and auction items to promote your local business.

The Kiwanis Club of Wilton appreciates the generous support received during their 62 years in Wilton, and is proud of its service and fund-raising for important causes in the broader Wilton community. The golf tournament has become its most important annual fundraiser, contributing nearly $100,000 in just the first 4 years. For more than a century the Visiting Nurse & Hospice of Fairfield County has delivered a full range of community based, family centered services through Fairfield County, including assistance with all stages of health care such as preventative, respite, rehabilitative, counseling and hospice services. With a marked increase in underage drinking in the 1980s, a group of concerned parents formed the Wilton Youth Council to spark awareness and to prevent risky behavior associated with drinking and drug use among community teens and preteens. Funds raised through the tournament will go to the Youth-to-Youth Program at the Middlebrook School and C.O.D.E.S at the Wilton High School. For more information at Wilton Youth Council.
