Last Saturday 15 Wilton residents participated in the Wilton CERT Basic Training class. At the end of the day the majority were interested in joining the Wilton CERT Team.
Wilton CERT is a volunteer organization affiliated with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and FEMA. After completion of the 6 session training course, participants are invited to join Wilton CERT and become a member of an active community service organization. Wilton CERT regularly supports Wilton’s Fire & Police Departments during major town incidents and public events. CERT assists in traffic control, operating the town’s emergency shelter, and distributing emergency supplies when needed.
