Work Like a Mother and Wilton Family Y Bring Mothers New Programs

Meet Dr. Hilary S. Berger, Ed.D. as she hosts two informal open houses at the Wilton Family Y, both on Wednesday, Jan 22.  Members and non-members, all are invited to drop in, anytime between 10:00 am-12:00 pm, or between 7:00-8:00 pm, and learn about the upcoming classes being offered.

“Career development for mothers is a fluid, adaptable, ever-changing path through the entire life-cycle,” states Berger in a release.

Whether you have young kids or an empty nest, the idea of re-immerging as a professional after an absence, can be daunting.  Berger has introduced a method that assists mothers in regaining their confidence, teaches them how to reexamine their skills and realize their untapped potential.

Berger will be conducting various classes and seminars during 2014, including the upcoming 6-week series called “Career Issues For Stay At Home Moms… More Than Meets The Eye - A Fast Track to Reinvention” at the Wilton Family Y for 6 consecutive Wednesdays, from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm beginning Jan. 29 and concluding on March 5.

The class fee is $225.00 for Y members and $325.00 for non-members.  Seating for classes is limited and reservations with payment in advance are required.

Berger, is the founder of Work Like a Mother, a Career Counselor and Board Certified Licensed Professional Mental Health Counselor, and obtained her Doctoral Degree from Columbia University's Teachers College.

Berger has pioneered a solution-oriented career counseling system, and has counseled women in transition, in university settings and in private practice for over twenty years. She taught psychology and career development courses for twenty years, is an author and conducts seminars for large and small audiences.

Berger is a mother herself, and elected to leave her full-time career to stay at home with her four children, who now range in age from 12 to 19, thus she has first-hand knowledge of her clients’ experiences.

The open houses on Jan. 22 are open to Y members and non-members. All are welcome to attend; please RSVP via email to kmurphy@wiltonymca.org or for more information, call Kim Murphy, 203-762-8384 ext. 214.  For additional information about Berger and her organization, Work Like a Mother, please visit the Work Like a Mother website.
