What's Open, What's Closed Memorial Day Weekend in Wilton
On Friday, Metro-North has more trains in the early afternoon, fewer at rush hour, and the Connecticut Department of Motor Vehicles closes early.
Government offices and some other places close or curtail their hours for Memorial Day, which is this coming Monday, May 26, 2014, and for Memorial Day weekend, the traditional start of summer.

Heres a list of what's open and what's closed this weekend:
FRIDAY, May 23
Connecticut Department of Motor Vehicles offices will close at 12:30 p.m. Friday, remain closed on Saturday (they're normally closed on Monday) and reopen at 7:45 a.m. Tuesday.
Metro-North is adding extra trains earlier in the afternoon Friday and reducing trains later Friday afternoon. For other changes, including extra trains, see this article.
SATURDAY, May 24 — Closed
Wilton Transfer Station (town dump)
Connecticut Department of Motor Vehicles offices, like the one in Norwalk; but AAA offices will be open. DMV offices reopen at 7:45 a.m. Tuesday.
SATURDAY — OPEN
Wilton Library, open normal Saturday hours (10 a.m. to 5 p.m.)
Post Offices
"All AAA offices will be open to process renewals for driver licenses and non-driver ID cards during their normal business hours on Friday, May 23 and Saturday, May 24. AAA offices will be closed on Monday, May 26." according to the Connecticut Department of Motor Vehicles.
SUNDAY, May 25 — OPEN
Wilton Library, open normal Sunday hours (1 to 5 p.m.)
MONDAY, May 26 — CLOSED
Wilton Town Hall and government offices
Wilton Transfer Station (town dump)
Wilton Library
Wilton Public Schools
Connecticut Department of Motor Vehicles customer service centers, like the one in Norwalk (see "Friday" section, above) are normally closed on Mondays.
AAA offices
Banks, all or almost all —even TD Banks (All banks in the state have the option of remaining open on public holidays. In practice, TD Bank is closed the least.)
The New York Stock Exchange and the financial industry are closed.

Other businesses: open at the owner’s discretion
Call ahead or look online before heading to businesses to confirm they are open. Many retail stores or gyms/health clubs may be operating on a Sunday schedule or with limited hours.

The Norwalk Transit District's Wheels buses won't be rolling on Memorial Day.
CT Transit in Stamford will operate on a Sunday schedule. There will be no Commuter Connection service.
