2013 Wilton Go Green Festival Gears Up

The Wilton Go Green Festival is gearing up for a day of learning, exploration, shopping and unrivaled fun for all ages.

Wilton Go Green Gears Up for Annual Festival

The Steering Committee for the 2013 Wilton Go Green Festival is in full swing enlisting exhibitors, signing corporate sponsors, attracting musical talent, culling items for its silent auction – including a family summer membership at the Wilton Y – and managing the endless details involved in orchestrating an event of this quality and size that is expected to draw close to 1,000 people.

Scheduled for May 5th from 11:00 to 4:00, the festival will sprawl between the Town Green and the Wilton Library. Eager to support WGG’s flagship event, Deloitte signed on early as a festival sponsor. This year’s event is also sponsored by Energize Connecticut with funding provided by the Clean Energy Finance & Investment Authority through a Community Innovations Grant.

Arthur Lipner and his world-class band Wilton Steel will be joined by other musicians to provide live entertainment throughout the day. Visitors can take a break from the activities and indulge in some of the best pizza around. Back by popular demand, Skinny Pines Pizza will fire up their brick oven and create deliciously original pies from locally grown ingredients.

The ever-popular giant Earth Balloon, sponsored by Deloitte, will also return this year to enhance our understanding of recycling, conservation and sustainability. The balloon’s Green Earth program will demonstrate how each of us can learn and take action to protect our precious planet through rich, interactive educational experiences and engaging, inquiry-based learning.
