The holidays are coming quickly and people tend to get really stressed out by everything going on - we've got shopping for presents, spending too much time with the in-laws, hosting parties and dinners, cooking, etc. While I love all this stuff, I usually let it stress me out way too much. This year, I'd like to change that.
I hosted a stress seminar in the Spring and here are some helpful tips on how to keep the stress level at a minimum:
Physical De-stressors
- Eat well
- Meditate
- Take deep breaths
- Exercise
- Stretch
- Dance
- Do yoga
- Laugh
- Reduce caffeine intake
- Drink water
- Take a bath
- Listen to music
- Smile-even if you have to fake it
- Prioritize your “To-Do” list
- Take a class you've always wanted to take
Mental De-stressors
- Write in a journal
- Talk with a loved one
- Live in the moment
- Enlist support from loved ones
- Find a new hobby and do it often
- Hug someone
- Learn to say “no”
Here's to a calmer next couple months for all of us!
