Wilton Relay for Life 2014 Set to be a Groovy Happening

After months and months of preparation, team fundraising and pre-event activities, Wilton Relay for Life 2014 is almost here!  With a 1960’s based theme and the participation of over 60 teams, a total of $67,300 has been raised to date.

Saturday May 31st – Sunday June 1st will be outta sight and Wilton’s Relay will move us a step closer to truly being able to say, “Peace Out, Cancer!”

Not only will the very groovy, Mr. Music Man, be spinning lots of funky tunes throughout the night, but the concession stand, run by the Wilton Volunteer Ambulance Corps, will be offering hamburgers, hot dogs, nachos, soda and hot beverages.  You might even see the 2014 Honorary Chair, Gene Feher, flipping some burgers.  So, be there or be square!

And, by the way, if your heart feels like capturing the 1960’s theme, wear your tie-dyed clothes, flowers-in-the-hair, Beatlemania, Flintsone’s, Jetson’s outfits, or whip your hair up into Hair frenzy, or carry your dove and Peace signs with you! There’s nothing like a little ‘60s music, threads or signs to get you in the mood for our Peace-in, PEACE-OUT CANCER RELAY FOR LIFE!

In order to help reach our goal of $150,000, there will be  of on site fundraisers that will be a gas!  Look for nifty grab bags, cake pops, tie-dye shirts and socks, peace sign cookies, face painting, henna tattoos and, of course, a photo booth.   Teams will also be hosting far out events such as a scavenger hunt, relay races, limbo, tug-o–war tournament,  corn hole tournament , boxer short decorating contest and a lip sync competition.
