Gerturde H. Wood, 95, Church Pianist

Wood is survived by her two sons, nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

 

Gertrude H. Wood, age 95 of Wilton, wife of the late Clyde O. Wood, died on Saturday, February 2, 2013 at Wilton Meadows.

Born in Fort Ann, NY, she was the daughter of Martin and Anna (Maranville) Hamblin. She had formerly lived in Milford and Norwalk for many years before coming to Wilton in 1993. She was a member of the Church of God for over 50 years. She enjoyed playing piano for church services and for her family. Mrs. Wood is survived by her two sons; Gerald G. Wood and his wife Maya, of Haines City, Florida, and Peter J. Wood and his wife Angela of Wilton, 9 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Her family will receive friends on Tuesday, from 1 to 4 PM at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Avenue, Norwalk. Burial at Moss St. Cemetery, Glens Falls, NY will be held at a later time.
