John Phillips Boyd, 73, Wildlife Enthusiast

John Phillips Boyd, 73, son of Harry and Mary P. Boyd of Norwalk, a longtime Wilton resident, passed away at home on Friday, December 27, 2013.  

John, a 1958 graduate of Norwalk High School, had worked for Boyd Bros. Artesian Well Drilling in Norwalk for over 30 years.

A man that loved to know how things worked, he found great joy in building a better mousetrap; inventing new gadgets or improving on things already made. He also had great interest in automobiles and aviation and at one point learned to fly.  

An avid lover of animals, he often fed and kept watch over local wildlife.

He was predeceased by his loving wife MaryEllen C. Boyd and his sister Judith B. Kapostas.He is survived by his two daughters, Robin B. McCabe of Newtown, CT and Sharon B. Vento of Weston, CT.

He is also survived by a grandson, Sal B. Vento, also of Weston, and a brother Harry S. Boyd of Wilton, CT.
